Who ever said reality TV actually had any reality in it?
It’s late November, which means the end of the year is around the corner. But that’s not stopping all this news from reaching us at S@Y Radio. There’s news on almost every reality show out there, but let’s keep it to five or ten. After all, these are just sum ups or news bits from Idol to Teen Mom and everything in between.

Jersey Shore
Typical things are happening upon the show, talking about Snooki’s baby woes and planning baby showers, and the guys needing some serious attitude adjustments about things – I don’t know I don’t really watch the show because of the stupidity of some the things that happen. Either way, as the episode progresses there is a storm rolling in to imitate Hurricane Sandy. After the show, there was a special ‘Restore the Shore’ with well wishes to those who had suffered in Hurricane Sandy
Performers who had taken part in Restore the Shore: Taylor Swift, One Direction, Bruno Mars, Adam Levine, Pink, Jay Leno, No Doubt, Simon Cowell, Christina Aguilera and Gym Class Heroes.

Teen Mom 2
The show has now entered its second season with Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Leah Messer (now Calvert) back to try and get their lives together. Though with the immediate tension and troubles facing these poor souls already one can only guess that this season is going to be just like the last, with a few more twists and turns thrown in. Janelle had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, Chelsea tells about her past and her thanks to her mother and Adam Lind. Kailyn talks of her back and forth with her baby’s daddy and her current boyfriend. Leah and Corey Simms’ wedding and divorce are revisited, as are twin Ali’s health issues, with Janelle now working with a youth group too.

American Idol
Two new promos have been released this past week with a bold statement of “Others Dream, Idol Delivers!” One spot has the four judges, spotlights the growing anticipation by using past finalists, and a strong claim that the show “turns unknowns into superstars.” It also hints of how Minaj is appearing to judge; reminds me of Paula, truly. The judge table seems to be more entertaining with her thrown into the mix, however season six finalist Chris Richardson, who is labelmates with Minaj at Cash Money Records, and said her expertise is needed at the panel.
I think Nicki will bring charisma to the show with a combination of originality, personality, a beautiful face and talent, she is a mega-talent for a mega-show."

Top Chef Seattle
Kristen Kish is a rising star from Boston battling this season. While she has made it through two of the episodes already, it is questioned if she will make it through tonight’s (November 21st) episode. <cite>She has said she has toyed with the idea of going on ‘Top Chef’ for several years, but that the timing worked out perfectly for this season. Plus, her boss, Lynch, who appeared as a guest judge on last season’s finale, encouraged her to do the show.
Why so many cooking shows exist is beyond me, as they often leave me relatively hungry. But to each their own.

The X Factor
Cher Lloyd is going to be back on the X Factor UK on Thursday’s result show to perform her latest single “Oath” from her debut ablum Sticks + Stones. She had been on the show last year and finished fourth, and gained international frame thanks to “Want U Back”. The album Sticks + Stones has her collaborate with one of the vocal coaches from X-Factor, Autumn Rowe. If you want to see her perform her single, remember to tune in on Thursday at 8/7 c.

Personal View
So now that we've gotten the news of television out of the way, I'm sitting here wondering: How much of this stuff is real and how much is it just crap that producers think the audience wants to see? There are so many hopefuls trying with American Idol or those mothers putting themselves through hell and Jersey Shore showing how idiotic they could be. Ah, the pity of simple minds needing such entertainment. But no matter - what sells sells.
