Blogs And Pods

By Daniel Sulph

The internet is filled with interesting audio and video to fill your ears with (when you’re not listening to S@Y Radio that is!) I personally am a fan of audio podcasting: episodic ‘pods’ that are designed to make you laugh, sing, dance, or even think. Here are just a few of my favourites:

Slate's Lexicon Valley Logo

Slate’s Lexicon Valley stars Bob Garfield and Mike Vuolo. Each episode these two curious co-hosts navigate the world of language and all of its foibles. You might think that the subject matter seems kind of stuffy, but I assure you reader that this is not your Grandmother’s language show! Lexicon Valley is not afraid to tackle controversial subjects. That being the case, listener discretion is advised.

Trust Inc. Logo

Trust Inc. was a radio drama that lasted for a season on CBC Radio One. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, Radio One was forced to axe all dramatic programming from their line-up. However, Trust Inc. lives on in our hearts, and on the internet. The show is about a fictional Public Relations firm in Toronto, and features several actors that you may be familiar with if you watch The LA Complex (Georgina Reilly) or watched Power Rangers Operation Overdrive (Matt Austin Sadowski)

I Like You Logo

I Like You is ‘a podcast about two people looking for like’ (the two in question being ‘J.P.’ and ‘Elah’). Each week, these two Torontonians examine the world of relationships, dating, sex etc. humorously and with an endearing personal warmth. And if you have something you would like to get off your chest or need help with don’t hesitate to call their toll free ‘Like Line’! (1-888-854-5337)
